In 2014 I have signed up to the Pan Mass Challenge, a massive charity cycling event in the USA. I will do the 2nd day, Bourne to Provincetown, 80 miles. I have decided to do it for several reasons.
In my time in recovery from having both knees replaced I have met and corresponded with people who (a) avoid and put off having replacement surgery because they believe it will leave them half-crippled, or (b) give up on recovery becuase they think it won't work.
Being able to cycle 80+ miles I hope will contribute to showing this isn't so.
I also hope to be able to ride at a pace so that I'll be nearer the front than to the back, showing that not just normality can be regained, but an element of genuine fitness too.
